Former Washington Redskins DE Adam Carriker posted a video to Instagram of him deadlifting 505 pounds for two reps.
Carriker isn’t the first person to Deadlift more than 500 pounds, and 505 is probably not even his max, but we need to give credit where credit is due: Carriker was on the injured reserve list only four months ago.
In Week 2 of the Redskins’ 2012 season, Carriker tore a quad tendon in his right leg. Two years and three knee surgeries later, the 300-pound free agent is back, out to prove that his injury will not stop him.
Carriker added the caption, “Each week a fan will ask how my leg is doing and when I’ll be back on the football field. My answer has simply been that I’m focused and working hard. Yesterday, I did the hex bar Deadlift for two reps at 505 lbs.”
Check out the video below to see the 6-foot-6 defensive end prove he’s healthy again and ready to play.
