Adam Sandler Stars in ‘Pixels’
Adam Sandler reunites with Kevin James in the sci-fi comedy Pixels, revolving around a group of video game experts recruited by the U.S. military to battle 1980’s-era video game characters that have attacked New York. Behind the assault are aliens who have misinterpreted video feeds from classic arcade games as a declaration of war. The extraterrestrials use the games as models in various attacks launched against planet Earth.
The film also stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Josh Gad (Jobs), Brian Cox (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Jane Krakowski and Michelle Monaghan.
Directing the movie is Chris Columbus, responsible for some of the most memorable and well-loved films of the past few decades, including Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire and two Harry Potter pictures. Sandler co-wrote the screenplay with Timothy Dowling (Just Go with It), animator Patrick Jean and former SNL writer Tim Herlihy, who has penned many of Sandler’s films over the years, from Billy Madison to 2013’s Grown Ups 2.
The movie is based on Jean’s 2010 short film of the same name. You can watch that below.
Pixels will be released in theaters nationwide on July 24.
