Aereo TV is a new service that lets you watch live, local TV on your computer, phone, tablet or any device that connects to the Internet. It’s been available for several months in New York City, but the service expanded to Boston this week, with plans to reach Atlanta next month and many other cities in the near future.

There are currently a number of services that allow consumers to watch old shows or movies online, but it’s been difficult to find ways to watch sports, news and live TV without having to resort to the proverbial “rabbit ears” or subscribing to a cable or satellite package that offers local channels. Aereo TV not only lets you watch TV anywhere you can get an Internet signal, it also offers “cloud” DVR service to record your favorite shows.

Aereo TV is currently promoting its two most popular plans for new subscribers. The basic plan, at $8 a month, comes with unlimited streaming as well as 20 hours of DVR storage. A second plan offers 60 hours of storage for $12 a month. Users can also get started with a free one-month trial and save with an annual plan.
