[youtube video=”Z_dideF5qvk” /]The film’s title precisely sums up the wacky storyline, which is devoted to 11-year-old Alexander’s monumentally bad day. Alexander’s family is initially unsympathetic, but it seems like bad days are contagious. Each of his parents, played by Carell and Garner, as well as his sister and brother, have horrific days of their own.
Cast as Alexander’s siblings are up-and-comers Dylan Minnette (Prisoners) and Kerris Dorsey of Showtime’s Ray Donovan. The movie also features Jennifer Coolidge (Two Broke Girls) and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace).
The picture was directed by Miguel Arteta, whose feature films include 2011’s Cedar Rapids and The Good Girl (2003). The screenplay was written by Rob Lieber, based on the book by Judith Viorst.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day lands in theaters nationwide October 10.
