In the big-screen drama And So It Goes, the life of Oren (played by Michael Douglas), a self-absorbed real estate agent, is turned upside down when his estranged son unexpectedly leaves his small daughter, Sarah, in his care.
The premise isn’t new, but it’s always fun to watch a career-driven narcissist navigate the choppy waters of parenthood. Being a dad is clearly a struggle for Oren. Luckily, he gets some help from a loving neighbor, Leah (played by Diane Keaton), who also becomes his romantic interest. As challenging as the experience is, Oren eventually opens his heart, learns to care about Sarah, and falls in love again.
The film was directed by Rob Reiner, who has helmed a long list of hit films, including Stand by Me, A Few Good Men and The Bucket List. The screenplay was penned by Mark Andrus, best known for the comedy/drama As Good as it Gets.
And So It Goes hits theaters nationwide July 11.
