Big KRIT Releases New Mixtape ‘King Remembered In Time’
Big KRIT recently released his latest mixtape, King Remembered In Time.
The project was highly anticipated by fans and critics alike. The southern rapper built his fan base off the quality of his free material. This latest freebie differs slightly from his previous offerings however, as it marks the first time KRIT has not produced a project in its entirety.
The Mississippi-bred rapper initially intended to work with several producers, but only a single cut from 9th Wonder made the final tracklist, so fans shouldn’t notice much of a difference. Explaining his recording process and goal going into King Remembered In Time during a recent interview with the Village Voice, Big KRIT said: “It’s just me showing growth, things I’ve learned in life and my journey. It’s also a reflection of how I’ve grown musically, especially my production. I like to show growth in my music, because that’s the natural way of things, to grow.
“I originally wanted to work with other producers, but aside from 9th Wonder, I still didn’t get to work with the bulk of producers I wanted to work with this go round. It’s never intentional, just organic. If I do a record with another producer, I’m not going to put it on the album unless the vibe and the feel is right. 9th just happened to work out like that.”
The project features collaborations with fellow rappers Bun B, Trinidad James, Wiz Khalifa, Smoke DZA, and Future. KRIT promises that his collaboration with Future is certain to get the clubs hyped up.
