Keyshia Cole Arrested for Assault in L.A.
Keyshia Cole’s rumored relationship with music mogul Birdman hit a snag over the weekend. The singer was arrested on Sept. 19 after she allegedly assaulted a woman she discovered in the Cash Money rapper’s Los Angeles condo around 5 a.m. TMZ reports that the victim walked away from the incident with several scratches on her face.
Cole was arrested for battery and an outstanding reckless driving warrant. She was later released on $46,000 bail. Thus far, she hasn’t publicly responded to the incident. But she did post a number of cryptic messages on Instagram, including one that read, “My real [and] your real ain’t the same that’s why we don’t click.”
August Alsina Still Recovering From Medically-Induced Coma
On Sept. 15, August Alsina passed out mid-performance during his “Testimony Live” tour stop in New York City, and he reportedly suffered several seizures on his way to the hospital. But until recently the severity of his health problems was unknown. On Sept. 19, the singer revealed that he was put into a medically-induced coma for three days while doctors attempted to stabilize him.
He updated fans on his progress on Instagram and thanked a friend for remaining by his side during the ordeal. “What I’m tryna say is cherish the ones in life who cherish you [and] take good care of yourself,” he wrote. “Your life can be gone in a split second. I’m recovering well and thank you for all of your prayers [and] concerns.”
Gucci Mane Sentenced to an Additional Three Years in Prison
Earlier this month, Gucci Mane and his attorneys scored a small legal win when the judge presiding over his gun possession case agreed to include the time he’s already served in his sentencing for that case. But the Atlanta rapper’s legal problems continue to pile up.
Last week, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in connection with a March 2013 incident outside an Atlanta nightclub, where he bashed a man over the head with a vodka bottle. He was sentenced to three years in jail for assault. The sentence will run concurrently with his federal sentence, of which 28 months remain. But it’s unclear if he’ll also be granted time served in the assault case. He is expected to be released from jail in 2016.
Iggy Azalea Suing Former Manager
Iggy Azalea has pulled into court her fight with her former manager and boyfriend Jefe Wine (real name: Maurice Williams) over an alleged sex tape and leaked music. Last week, the “Fancy” rapper filed a federal lawsuit against Wine, accusing him of illegally accessing her computer in 2009 and downloading “the entire contents,” including a number of master recordings. In the filing, the Australian beauty also accused Wine of copyright infringement and forgery in response to his assertion that she signed over exclusive rights to him to “manufacture, sell, distribute and advertise any recording embodying visual images.”
At the center of the fight is an alleged sex tape. According to TMZ, Wine has claimed that he has the right to release the illicit tape and intends to avoid legal issues by adding her music, which he claims he owns, to the background.
