Bodhizone’s Unique Approach to Fitness and Injury Prevention
Dr. Scott Weiss
The main goal of every training program is to ultimately prevent injury. Yes, you want to improve your fitness, but staying healthy and injury-free should always be one of your primary objectives.
At Bodhizone Physical Therapy and Wellness in New York City, Dr. Scott Weiss has created a workout system that helps people stay injury free, while maximizing their performance gains. His solution is a hybrid and holistic approach to fitness, based on his experience as a physical therapist, athletic trainer, and strength and conditioning coach.
“It was important to me to not just specialize in one field, but to bring the total package,” says Dr. Weiss. “It allows me to more easily see the entire picture.”
His unique workouts combine western and eastern training philosophies. “Within a single exercise session, we incorporate Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates, dance, martial arts and acrobatics,” Weiss says.
The approach has caught the attention of both fitness enthusiasts and Olympic athletes, who Weiss says have “noticed serious performance benefits from these workouts when they compete.”
Weiss also offers injury rehabilitation at the facility, and he is capable of helping patients recover from surgery to return to full activity.
Throughout his workouts and rehab sessions, Weiss educates his clients, offering common sports health tips and exercises. “Educating the patient or client is a big part of what we do,” he says. “We can teach them simple tips like stretching, icing and heating so they are prepared to handle anything in the long term.”
