‘Boston Strong’ Movie Gets ‘RoboCop’ Writer
A film chronicling the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing is currently in the works. Titled Boston Strong, it will be based on Casey Sherman’s and Dave Wedge’s nonfiction book of the same name.
The project was picked up by 20th Century Fox last November. The Fighter writing duo of Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy penned the original draft of the script. They will serve as producers of the film, but it was recently announced that Joshua Zetumer has been brought on board to rewrite the screenplay. Zetumer, who is best known for the 2014 remake of RoboCop, was already at work on another high profile Fox production, the X-Men spinoff, Gambit, starring Channing Tatum.
Directing the big screen drama is Daniel Espinosa (Safe House and the thriller Child 44).
