Prepare to Be Impressed by Cam Newton’s One-Arm Push-Ups
Cam Newton is known for many historic accomplishments: Heisman Trophy Winner, All-American, National Champion, NFL Rookie of the Year, 3-time Pro Bowler, and Super Bowl Starting QB among them. Now we can add One-Arm Push-Up Master to the list, as evidenced by the video above.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound beast glides through these modified Push-Ups with ease, moving the low-friction disc in his off hand forward for a set, then to the side for another set. In addition to the amazing chest, shoulder and arm strength it takes to press his body up from the floor without assistance from his other arm, Newton clearly rates off the charts in core strength. He is able to stabilize his massive frame throughout a non-symmetrical movement that would set most other athletes off balance.

This is exactly why NFL defenders tend to bounce off Newton when they try to tackle him above the waist. His coordinated strength and muscle mass are huge weapons for the dual-threat QB, especially when he is up to speed. We are willing to bet there aren’t many other NFL QBs who can crank through reps of this exercise like the likely NFL MVP.
We’ll have to wait to see if his Superman strength can power Newton to his next accomplishment, Super Bowl Champion. In the meantime, let’s all be impressed with his freakish performance above.
