Corporate Thriller 'Capital' Hits Theaters Today

In 'Capital,' a ruthless bank executive fights a hostile takeover by a hedge fund. Gabriel Byrne and Gad Elmaleh star in the drama, which opens Oct. 25.

Capital, starring Gabriel Byrne, centers on ruthless young executive Marc Tourneuil (Gad Elmaleh), who will stop at nothing to acquire money and power. Marc gets his chance to fulfill his massive ambitions when he is chosen to replace the CEO of France's Phenix Bank. Between his adversaries' determination to destroy him and a hostile takeover attempt by hedge fund boss Dittmar Rigule (Gabriel Byrne), can the unscrupulous Tourneuil stay on top?

The film was directed by two-time Oscar-winning director Costa-Gavras, whose 50-plus-year career includes such memorable films as The Music Box and Mad City. He also wrote the screenplay with Jean-Claude Grumberg and Karim Boukercha.
