‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Trailer Arrives
Marvel has released its first trailer for the upcoming Captain America sequel. The short clip packs in the action, introduces a few new faces and offers a couple of hints regarding the plot.
Still reeling from the Battle of New York and working with S.H.I.E.L.D., Cap struggles to adapt to the modern world around him. It becomes clear that not everyone at the secretive organization is working for society’s best interests. He has to watch his back, navigate through moral ambiguity and determine where his loyalties lie while fighting off Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier.
The trailer also offers a preview of the budding relationship between Captain America and Black Widow; a look at Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who later becomes Falcon; a few shots of Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford), a high-ranking leader at S.H.I.E.L.D.; and a quick glimpse at Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). The only person noticeably absent is Emily VanCamp’s character, Sharon Carter (Agent 13).
Assuming you’ve been on friendly terms with the Internet the past few months, the entire trailer is nothing more than non-spoilery goodness. The elevator scene is worth your time. Go ahead, watch it twice.
Captain America: the Winter Soldier will be released April 4, 2014.
