A new villain is not the only change fans will notice in the upcoming Captain America sequel, The Winter Solider. During a recent interview on the set, Chris Evans talked to journalists about the hero's new outfit and his different fighting technique.
Because the new suit seems to have a function in the plot, Evans was hesitant to reveal too much, saying, "I don't know what I can tell you." He did, however, admit to enjoying the new outfit: "I do like the new suit a lot. I can tell you I think a lot of people like the old suit as well. The Avengers suit was wildly comfortable, but I think a lot of people enjoyed the old suit."
Comparing his new fighting style to that of Jason Bourne, Evans said that Cap's moves have evolved considerably since the last time we saw him. He'll still use the shield, but there will also be a mix of spinning and jumping acrobatics. "This isn't just a guy who's given the ability of speed and power. He's been training. He's got the frame of mind to absorb this information, so I can only assume with training and his ability, this guy should really be dangerous, and we should show that," said the actor.
"If Jason Bourne can do it, Cap should be flying through these things. So we've had a little bit of fun kind of turning up his power, turning up his speed, and so the fights are more grizzly and more impactful, and in my opinion, cooler."
The Winter Soldier will premiere in theaters April 4, 2014.
