How to Ditch Cellulite
Cellulite, that annoying “cheese-like” dimpling that appears on thighs, butts, arms and abdomens, is caused by small fat protrusions in the dermis, the skin’s second layer. No one is immune from cellulite, but women have a greater chance of developing it, because they generally have a higher percentage of body fat than men.
You may have tried popular manipulation techniques, herbal remedies, thermotherapy and topical ointments, but each treatment probably did little to reduce cellulite—making you wonder whether it’s even possible to get rid of cellulite’?
Yes it is! But you have to ditch the pizza, soda, ice cream, chips and fast food. If you want to eliminate cellulite, you need to lose weight! Healthy eating and exercise are the best ways to begin exiling those evil dimples!
I suggest implementing a comprehensive exercise program of resistance training, cardio at varying intensities and stretching. This will begin to reduce underlying body fat. Add in some healthy eating habits—like lots of fruits and veggies, never skipping breakfast, grazing consistently and drinking plenty of water—and soon the appearance of cellulite will begin to dissipate. Be patient however. It took years to get it there, so it will take some time for the cellulite to go away.
Here are some sample workouts to try:
If you have small to medium cellulite deposits, repeat the following circuit 3-5x:
• Pedal as fast as you can on a stationary bike for 30 seconds
• Jump Squats 10 reps
• Push-Ups: 10 reps
• Jump Lunges: 10 reps
• Sumatra Push-Ups: 10 reps
• Jumping Jacks: 30 seconds
• Plank on Bosu: 30 seconds
If you have more dimples, add full bodyweight workouts three or four times a week:
• Begin with Lunges and Squats.
• Follow up with Push-Ups and Pull-Ups.
• Perform Shoulder Presses.
On your days off, walk like a mad person. Walking isn’t exercise. It’s a necessity. You should be logging two to three miles per day.
