LeBron James caught some flack for taking one of his days off this week to jet down to Miami and work out with his former teammate and current best bud for life, Dwyane Wade. The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a rut as they try and figure out how best to use their Big 3, but James seemed carefree. He and Wade had their trainer film parts of their workout, in which they appear to spend more time dancing than exercising.
That rubbed some people the wrong way. James’s and Wade’s friendship is well documented, and a harmless workout during a stretch of three days without a game isn’t usually a big deal. But it is when it’s James, and he knows that, which is why his decision to allow part of the workout to be filmed and then placed on the internet was an odd one, since he presumably knew the firestorm it would create.
On last night’s Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith didn’t let Wade and James get away with their hangout without a little ribbing. The two analysts reenacted the buddy workout, ragging on James and Wade for posing for the camera as much as they do.
“Come on, man! You can’t be doing that!” Smith exclaimed.
The saga continues.
