Check Out the Brooklyn Nets’ New 70,000-Square-Foot Training Center

The Brooklyn Nets are mired in a season they will be glad to forget. At the All-Star break, their record is an atrocious 14-40, and they are in talks to buy out Joe Johnson, the last remaining piece from their free agency spending spree a few years ago to begin a much-needed rebuilding process. But when you’re stationed in the Big Apple and your owner is a Russian billionaire, things are never all bad, and Brooklyn’s brand new training center is proof of that.
Set to officially open today, the HSS Training Center in downtown Brooklyn is a workout palace, measuring 70,000 square feet and featuring amenities other NBA franchises would drool over. Sixteen-foot windows spread across one end of the practice gym, giving players and coaches amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. A players’ lounge features 80-inch flatscreen TVs and a movie theater—just in case the guys want to watch game film as if they were sitting courtside at the game. Cryogenic chambers and a hydro room help with player recovery. There’s even a rooftop lounge with a bar, in case one of the Nets wants to spent an off night sipping a cocktail and taking in a 360-degree view of New York City.
The Nets’ current record may not be pretty, but the HSS Training Center could distract some free agents from fixating on it. Check out more photos of the state-of-the-art facility below.
