On Wednesday Oct. 3, at 8pm EDT, the NFL Network will debut the documentary Cleveland ’95: A Football Life, the untold story of the 1995 Cleveland Browns and their controversial move to Baltimore. After the Browns’ successful 11-5 season in 1994, the future looked bright for the team and for head coach Bill Belichick and his group of young assistants—which included 3-time NCAA National Champion Nick Saban, current Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz and other notables (look at the ridiculous roster of coaches). However, on Nov. 6, 1995, then-owner Art Modell announced his intention to move the Browns to Baltimore.
Cleveland ’95: A Football Life looks back at the shock and outrage Modell’s decision (known as “The Move”) caused among loyal and passionate Browns fans. One can only imagine what Belichick and his team of bright minds could have done for the franchise and for the City of Cleveland.
