Columbia Zonafied Softshell Jacket Review
Columbia Sportwear, known for outerwear that can withstand the harshest of elements, gives us the Zonafied™ Softshell Jacket for both men and women. Incorporating Columbia’s proprietary Omni-Heat technology, the jacket uses fabric similar to a reflective emergency heat blanket to provide insulation. What you get is a lightweight jacket that gives you what feels like recycled heat inside the garment. One of the more interesting features of the jacket is that it appears to get warmer after you wear it for a few minutes, especially great for when you’re exercising in the late fall and early winter months, when the air gets colder and the weather is at its most unpredictable.
Tested in a variety of situations, from bike riding to hiking to running, the Zonafied Softshell kept me nice and toasty in a multitude of conditions. Another great consideration: the insulation is limited to the front and back of the jacket, which essentially creates a vest with sleeves. The fabric of the jacket is stretchy, and at no point did my movement feel restricted. This reduced the bulk of the jacket, especially helpful during activities when mobility is a concern.
If you’re looking for a fall/early winter jacket to extend your outdoor workout sessions into the colder months, the Columbia Zonafied Softshell Jacket is worth your consideration.
