Stressed out about completing your college apps? Check out the following tips as you prepare to keep your mind right.
Read Familiarize yourself with the application's content before you start writing.
Gear up Have the necessary materials and information on hand (e.g., your Social Security number, school address, activity sheet). It will save you from having to search for information each time you move onto the next question.
Don't rush Completing an application is an important task and requires a thorough effort. If it must be handwritten, write legibly in blue or black ink. Complete the application online if that's an option; typing the information prevents illegible handwriting and having to pay for postage.
Brainstorm When it comes to the essay or statement, remember: Structure is key. Gather your topic ideas, then narrow down the field. When you write, be clear and concise.
Double check When you're finished, scour your application for spelling errors, punctuation and grammar. Then, give it to someone else to read. Since you're familiar with the information, you may have missed a few small errors.
