David Tennant and Rosamund Pike Headline Comedy ‘What We Did on Our Holiday’
David Tennant (Doctor Who) has been keeping busy lately on both the small and big screen. He will co-star alongside Krysten Ritter in the highly anticipated comic book-based TV series Jessica Jones; and he has a number of films coming out, including the family comedy What We Did on Our Holiday with Oscar-nominated actress Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl).
The film centers on Doug (Tennant) and Abi (Pike), a couple who take their boisterous children on a family vacation to Scotland, where they visit Doug’s sickly father Gordy on his 75th birthday and stay with Doug’s uptight brother Gavin. The trip turns embarrassing when the kids innocently blab private details about their home life and dysfunctional parents.
The movie also features Billy Connolly (The Last Samurai), Ben Miller (Death in Paradise), Emilia Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) and Amelia Bullmore of TV’s Shameless.
The picture was written and directed by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, who have collaborated on many projects over the years, including the smash hit BBC TV comedy series Outnumbered.
David Tennant has three other films premiering before the end of next year, including the crime drama I Feel Fine, out sometime in 2016.
