VIDEO GAME TRAILER: ‘Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’
Square Enix has released the first trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Check it out below!
A sequel to 2011’s Human Revolution, the game picks up in 2029, two years after the earlier title. With the “golden era of augmentations” behind them, humans find themselves in a place where the future is up for grabs. Mechanically augmented humans, who temporarily lost control over their minds and bodies thanks to the Illuminati, are outcasts on metaphysical and physical levels and labeled terrorists. But there’s hint of a greater scheme at play.
“We are human beings. Each and every one of us. This must not go on. This injustice must end,” implores a male voice in the clip as a news report incites citizens to be wary of the augmented and highlights the destruction that resulted from the event at the end of Human Revolution.
According to Game Informer, Adam Jensen will return to work on an Interpol-funded task force responsible for hunting down the augmented terrorists. To do the job, he’ll be sporting some upgrades of his own, which will aid him in stealth operations, combat and social interactions. However, players are expected to have considerable control over exactly how Jensen executes his various missions.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided does not have a release date yet, but it will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can pre-order digital copies from Square Enix’s online store, and physical copies from Amazon or GameStop.
