On Sept. 1, the BBC television sci-fi dynasty Doctor Who kicked off its seventh action-packed season. Since the show’s debut in 1963, ten actors have portrayed the alien Doctor. This season, fans welcome back Matt Smith as the reigning hero.
Since 2010, Smith has brought the Doctor to life on television screens throughout the UK. In this season’s first episode, “Asylum of the Daleks,” the genetically modified, extraterrestrial Daleks capture and imprison the Doctor and his companions, Amy, played by Karen Gillan, and her husband Rory, played by Arthur Darvill.
Since the show off to a thrilling start, fans are sure this season will deliver.
