Dwyane Wade Is the New Face of Li-Ning
After a successful run with Jordan Brand, Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade has decided to move in a new direction. Wade joined Jordan in 2009 after spending six years with Converse, but the two mutually decided to end the relationship after Wade’s current contract ended.
Honored to have represented a brand started by his childhood idol, Michael Jordan, Wade said (as quoted by Chris Tomasson of FoxSportsFlorida.com) “It’s just the time. We just went our separate ways. But I still feel honored to have represented my favorite player of all time and his brand and the opportunity I was given.”
Surprisingly, Wade has struck a new deal with Chinese apparel company Li-Ning, which has been actively trying to penetrate the U.S. market. By signing the deal, Wade becomes the face of a rising company with a roster of players that includes Evan Turner and Jose Calderon.
Having featured Li-Ning products in various issues of STACK Magazine, we’ve been impressed with the company’s basketball sneaker designs and craftsmanship. We look forward to to seeing Wade take Li-Ning to new heights—literally.
