Eminem to Release an Album in 2013
Rumors surrounding Eminem’s plans to begin recording his eighth solo album have surfaced throughout the year. Last month, the rumors were confirmed by the Detroit MC’s online store. The store released a Marshall Mathers baseball cap with a side panel embroidered with the years Eminem dropped solo albums. According to the cap’s description on the site, a portion of each hat purchase will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation.
The inscription includes 1996, 1999, 2010 the years he released Infinite, The Slim Shady LP, and Recovery, respectively. The last date is 2013, signaling the rapper’s return. There are no other details regarding the prophetic date. Many expect him to work with producer No I.D. and frequent collaborator Dr. Dre.
Just because the Aftermath Records lyricist hasn’t released material in two years doesn’t mean he hasn’t been in the studio. The rapper/producer worked with rap super group Slaugtherhouse earlier this year on their Shady Records debut, Welcome to: Our House, and played a major role in the production of the project. (Check out the project here: On The House Mixtape.)
He was also enlisted by singer Skylar Grey to work on her upcoming major label debut, Don’t Look Down, which is slated for release in Spring 2013 via Interscope Records. The album’s first single, C’Mon Let Me Ride, featuring a verse from the rapper, will be released in early December.
