First Look at New Air Jordan 11 Playoffs
Voted the greatest sneaker of all time by Sole Collector Magazine, the Air Jordan 11 has been perhaps the world’s most-sought-after sneaker since it debuted in 1996. Now, news has leaked that Air Jordan’s most popular shoe ever will return this year in a special edition Playoffs model. Whether you’re a sneaker collector or a serious baller, you have to check it out.
When the original Air Jordan 11 came out, it marked the first time sneakers used patent leather. The semi-dressy look led fans to sport the sneakers with their formal clothes.
It might be a little harder to pull off the suit/shoe combo with the new Playoffs model. It features a bright red sole with a white base and a black top—a sleeker and meaner look than past retro versions. But it is still perfect for the court.
Although the Playoffs are getting the most buzz, they aren’t the only Jordans hitting shelves this year. Another 11 model, the Columbia, should be dropping in 2012. Rumors also have shoes in the Air Jordan 9 series showing up in 2012, in a variety of colorways, including olive and cool grey.
Although release dates are still up in the air, it looks like most of the retro models will land sometime in December. One thing is sure: you’ll be able to pick up the Playoffs for $180.
While you’re waiting for your retro kicks, check out the sweet new Air Jordan 2012 sneakers, available now.
