Few have landed a clean shot on him, and even fewer have scored a second shot.
For just the second time in his professional career, Floyd Mayweather will fight a rematch bout when he enters the ring against Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this Saturday, Sept. 13.
Mayweather defeated Maidana via majority decision in May. The pound-for-pound king says he’s even more mentally and physically prepared for the rematch. The welterweight and middleweight world champion opened the doors to his Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas for an open workout session in advance of the Maidana rematch.
After an hour-long boxing workout of focus mitt and heavy bag drills, the ultimate defensive tactician dropped his guard and showed off his strength and conditioning workout, a routine that’s rarely been seen during his illustrious career.
Mayweather said during the workout, “To be the best, you’ve got to push yourself to the limit.”
