In the crime thriller Freezer, Dylan McDermott plays New York mechanic Robert Saunders, who is assaulted and taken prisoner by the Russian Mafia in a case of mistaken identity. One minute Saunders is enjoying his birthday dinner, and in the next he finds himself locked in a meat freezer after being knocked unconscious. The Mafia bad guys think he stole $8 million from them and refuse to release him until he tells them where the money is. Saunders insists they have the wrong man, but to no avail. The discovery of another victim, Sam, and a wounded cop (Peter Facinelli) help unravel this horrifying mystery. Sam may be the key to Saunders' escape as he attempts to fight his way out of his arctic death trap.
The cast also features Russian beauty Yulya Snigir (A Good Day to Die Hard), Andrey Ivchenko (The Way of the West), David McNally (I Think I Do), Pascal Petardi (House of Versace) and TV's Milan Malisic, known for his appearances in series such as Nikita.
Danish-born Mikael Salomon, known for directing high-profile TV movies and mini-series like Drew Peterson: Untouchable; Camelot; and Who is Clark Rockefeller? directs the picture. The screenplay is a collaborative effort by Tom Doganoglu (8 Million Dollars) and newcomer Shane Weisfeld.
The trailer shows an intense, action-filled survival story with some intriguing twists and turns. Yulia Snigir's performance as an alluring but ruthless gangster is especially powerful.
Freezer heads to theaters in limited release Jan. 17.
