Gatorade Player of the Year Awards Streaming Live Tonight
Tonight, July 12, STACK will attend the 2011 Gatorade High School Player of the Year awards, presented to the nation’s best overall male and female high school athletes.
In annual ceremonies since 1985, some of the best and brightest names in sports today, such as Kevin Durant and Candace Parker, have received the Gatorade awards. This year’s awards will be presented by former G Players of the Year Matthew Stafford, Lisa Leslie, Kevin Love and Jessica Mendoza. Twelve high school athletes, each of whom won Gatorade’s National Player of the Year award in his or her respective sport, are nominees for Player of the Year.
Gatorade will stream the award dinner live online from the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., PST, emceed by ESPN’s Stuart Scott. Then, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., PST, fans can stay on the USTREAM channel to ask questions of all of the presenting professional athletes as well as the 12 Gatorade High School Player of the Year nominees.
