James Franco and Kate Hudson star in the crime drama Good People, about a couple facing a moral dilemma, whose greed makes them the target of a dangerous criminal.
Tom (Franco) and Anna (Hudson) are young marrieds looking forward to having a house and a family of their own, but renovating Anna’s family home in London sinks them deep into debt. They discover a dead body in the apartment below them, along with $400,000 in cash. It seems like fate that they should find the money when they need it the most. At first, they decide to take only enough to pay off their debts, but temptation gets the better of them and they spend more and more of the stash. Terrifying consequences ensue when the thief who stole the money comes back to retrieve it.
The cast also includes Tom Wilkinson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Anna Friel (The Psychopath Next Door), and French actor Omar Sy, who will soon become familiar to American audiences with roles in major flicks X-Men: Days of Future Past and Jurassic World.
Helming the film is Danish director Henrik Genz. Based on the novel by Marcus Sakey, the screenplay was written by Kelly Masterson (Killing Kennedy), Paul Grellong and Christina Hodson.
Good People opens nationwide July 25.
