‘Imitation Game’ Writer Bringing Outbreak Drama Series
World War Z director/producer Marc Forster and Oscar-winning Imitation Game writer/producer Graham Moore are teaming up for an outbreak drama series on NBC.
In this untitled 10-episode series, a woman with mysterious symptoms and her loved ones are victims of an epidemic that has international repercussions. At the same time, an FBI agent is driven to the edge of madness as he investigates a seemingly unrelated terror attack in another part of the world. The show depicts the best and the worst of human nature as the outbreak pushes the characters to the limit during an extreme crisis scenario.
Moore, the project’s creator, will write and executive produce. Forster will direct the drama and join Moore as an executive producer.
Outbreak series are all the rage right now. Popular zombie drama The Walking Dead continues to go strong with its sixth season premiering this fall and a prequel on the way. Other outbreak shows popping up lately include the Fox comedy The Last Man on Earth, which has been renewed for a second season, and the upcoming series Containment on the CW.
Although Forster has recently been working mostly on television projects, the German-born filmmaker, responsible for prominent pictures such as Monster’s Ball, Quantum of Solace and The Kite Runner, will soon return to the big screen for the provocative drama All I See is You starring Blake Lively, about a blind woman whose relationship with her husband changes when she regains her sight.
