Gaming Update: ‘Gran Turismo 7,’ ‘Football Manager,’ ‘Metro: Last Light,’ ‘Dishonored’
Last week, Polyphony Digital revealed that Gran Turismo 7 is already in the works, Football Manager 14 got a release date, details emerged about Metro‘s penultimate DLC, and Bethesda announced the GOTY Edition of Dishonored.
Gran Turismo 7 Coming Sooner Than Expected
Gran Turismo 6 hasn’t even landed on shelves yet, and developer Polyphony Digital is already looking ahead to GT7.
According to Polygon, producer Kazunori Yamauchi told Famitsu, “The PlayStation 4 game we’ll likely call GT7 will be done in about a year or two.” He also teased the possibility of the title one day heading to mobile, saying, “Some day, I’d like to try making the game playable on mobile devices, but we’re starting out with just community tools for now. Technically it’s possible, but it’ll be a gradual sort of thing.”
Football Manager 2014 Coming Oct. 31
Football Manager 2014 will be released on Oct. 31, but gamers can get the game in beta two weeks ahead of that if they pre-order it from select retailers.
The title will be available for Mac, PC and, for the first time, Linux users. Football Manager 2014 will also give cross-save support to those who own the Vita version of the game. New features for the 2014 edition include cloud saves, a refined Classic mode, new challenges and the ability to create challenges.
“We were getting so many ideas for challenges from the community. . .We thought why not make it a community-led thing and allow the community to make their own challenges?” said director Miles Jacobson to IGN. “So basically you go in and set up challenges, which are basically one-season or half-season challenges.”
Metro: Last Light DLC Arrives This Week
Last Light‘s third DLC “Developer’s Pack” arrived Sept. 17 for PSN, Xbox Live and PC stateside gamers and a day later for Europe. The content gives players the ability to try out all of the game’s weapons and experiment with combinations; pit customized squads of soldiers and mutants against each other in the AI Arena; and explore the game’s characters in the “Metro Museum.” A solo mission, dubbed the “Spider’s Nest,” will test gamers’ fear of spiders as they attempt to make their way through a catacomb.
“Developer’s Pack” is free to Season Pass holders and $3.99 for everyone else. The fourth and last add-on for Last Light, the “Chronicles Pack,” still forthcoming, will feature three new single-player missions allowing gamers to take on the role of Pavel, Khan & Ulman, and Anna and delve into their stories.
Dishonored Game of the Year Edition Announced
Dishonored is getting the GOTY treatment. The game will arrive Oct. 8 in the U.S. and Oct. 11 in Europe. The bundle will include the game; a double-sided poster; DLCs “Dunwall City Trials,” “The Knife of Dunwall” and “The Brigmore Witches”; and the “Void Walker’s Arsenal” Collection, which includes the “Acrobatic Killer,” the “Arcane Assassin,” the “Backstreet Butcher,” and the “Shadow Rat” packs.
“We’re now excited to offer people the opportunity to have all of this great content in one package,” said Pete Hines, vice president of marketing and PR for Bethesda Software.
The GOTY Edition, priced at $39.99, will be available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
