Watch the ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Gameplay Trailer
The Grand Theft Auto V gameplay trailer arrived last week, and it’s as great as you thought it would be, maybe even a little better.
The clip, which clocks in at just under five minutes, starts with brief shots of the various forms of transportation available in GTA V—helicopter, jet, speedboat and cars. After that, we see the game’s expansive environment, which includes bustling shopping areas, crime-ridden urban areas, suburbs, mountains and beaches.
We also get re-introduced to the three main characters. Michael is described as a “once-successful bank robber and now less-successful family man,” and viewers get to see a bit of household drama. Franklin, a “street hustler convinced he’s surrounded by morons,” shows his temper. And Trevor, well, not much is revealed about him, but the fact that his clip shows him attempting to flush a foot down a toilet shouldn’t leave many questions about his personality.
And just in case you forgot, GTA isn’t all about crime. You’ll be able to shop for clothes and cars, drive a wide range of vehicles, golf, dive and hunt. Gamers can even invest their winnings into different companies. And you’ll be able to fund all of these activities by completing daring heists, which you’ll set up and execute with the crew of your choosing.
Grand Theft Auto V will be released on Sept. 17, which unfortunately isn’t tomorrow. But you can pre-order the game now (learn more about pre-order bonuses). Rockstar also teased an expansive multiplayer GTA Online, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for details. Excited yet?
You can watch the gameplay trailer on YouTube. Be warned that it contains some profanity and violence.
