HBO Boxing: 24/7 Mayweather Vs. Ortiz
On Sept. 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather, Jr., pound-for-pound one of the best fighters in the world, will return to the ring after a 16-month hiatus to take on welterweight titlist Victor Ortiz. As they have with most recent notable boxing matches, HBO Sports is documenting the fighters’ four weeks of training leading up to the bout for their Emmy Award-winning reality series, 24/7.
To promote the fight, HBO’s parent company Time Warner will also air the series on CNN. The first half-hour episode premiers Aug. 27 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, followed by a rebroadcast on CNN at midnight ET/PT. The second episode will debut Sept. 3 at midnight ET/PT on CNN; and the third and fourth episodes will air back-to-back on Sept. 16 at midnight ET/PT, less than 24 hours before the fight.
