Looking for a nutritious post-workout snack? Homemade fruit strips can give you a healthy boost, without the artificial ingredients often found in store bought varieties. Re-energize your body with an all-natural post-workout fruit strip today.
Homemade Fruit Strip Ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh strawberries
- 1 pint fresh raspberries
- Honey
- Lemon juice
- Food processor
- Jelly roll pan
- Waxed paper
- Plastic wrap
Homemade Fruit Strip Instructions:
Wash strawberries and raspberries, then pour them into food processor. Purée until smooth.
Add three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of lemon juice to the food processor. Mix for 30 seconds. The honey will add extra sweetness to the fruit strips, and the lemon juice will keep the coloration bright.
Line a jelly roll pan with waxed paper. Spread the purée on the waxed paper evenly.
Bake at 170 degree Fahrenheit for six to eight hours. You can tell if the fruit strips have baked long enough if they are pliable, yet moisture-free.
With a sharp knife, cut the fruit into individual strips. Wrap each one in plastic wrap for easy packing.
