Saban Films Picks Up John Travolta’s ‘I Am Wrath’
A deal was struck at the Cannes Film Festival in which Saban Films picked up the North American rights to the action thriller I Am Wrath, starring John Travolta as unemployed engineer Stanley Hill, who is haunted by memories of his wife’s brutal murder.
Currently in post-production, the film shows how Stanley is impacted after witnessing thugs attack and kill his wife in a parking garage. Overwhelmed with guilt, he is determined to get justice. When he is let down by a group of corrupt police officers, Stanley and his friend Dennis resolve to take matters into their own hands.
Cast as Stanley’s wife is Rebecca De Mornay (Wedding Crashers). Dennis is played by Christopher Meloni, whose recent work includes Man of Steel and the TV series Veep. Sam Trammell (The Fault in Our Stars) portrays a police detective working on the case. Amanda Schull (12 Monkeys) also has a starring role.
Directing the film is Chuck Russell, best known for The Scorpion King.
The screenplay was written by writer/actor Paul Sloan (Vigilante Diaries), who also has an on-screen role, and Yvan Gauthier (L.A., I Hate You).
