Increase Speed and Power With adidas’ TechFit PowerWeb Compression Shorts
Every athlete has encountered ads for products that guarantee immediate performance gains. Most of them are scoffable, because the benefits they promise are unbelievable. But with their TechFit PowerWeb Compression Shorts, adidas seems to have defied conventional wisdom.
Our friends at adidas were kind enough to send us sample shorts so we could try PowerWeb technology for ourselves. adidas claims that their “top-level” TechFit product “improves body stability and posture, while reducing muscle vibration though high compression,” and that “strategically-placed Thermoplastic Polyurethane [TPU] power bands work to store and convert the energy of an athlete’s movement, which would normally be lost, into increased speed and power.”
TPU band support was evident as soon as we put on the shorts, and it persisted throughout our workout. The shorts also helped with posture for sprinting and jumping. Although we didn’t time our sprints or measure our jumps, the TechFit PowerWeb shorts definitely gave the sensation of more power, speed and elasticity in our hips, glutes, hamstrings and quads.
We encourage all of our STACKletes to try a pair for themselves. And be sure to let us know if you experience the benefits of improved stability, speed and power by posting on our Facebook page or tweeting us at @STACKMedia.
