Gritty Prison Drama ‘Jamesy Boy’ Features Ving Rhames
In the crime thriller Jamesy Boy, a juvenile delinquent finds a mentor in an unlikely place: prison. When James, a misguided teen involved with suburban gangs, lands in prison, he befriends convicted murderer Conrad (Ving Rhames). Instead of becoming a hardened criminal, James plans for the future and Conrad helps him turn his life around.
The story is said to be based on the real life experiences of the film’s co-producer, James Burns. The recently released trailer (watch it below) shows the kind of raw, intense action-filled drama moviegoers expect from this type of picture.
Playing the lead in this gritty and inspiring film is newcomer Spencer Lofranco. James Woods stars as the intimidating prison supervisor, Lt. Falton. The cast also features Mary-Louise Parker, Taissa Farminga (American Horror Story), Rosa Salazar (Parenthood) and Taboo, of The Black Eyed Peas, as a trouble-making inmate.
Helming the project is Trevor White, known for writing and directing several dramatic shorts. White also co-wrote the script with Lane Shadgett (Perkins’ 14).
