Meek Mill Ordered to Take Etiquette Classes
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Meek Mill has been ordered by a judge to take etiquette classes. Judge Genece Brinkley instructed the rapper to attend the classes during his probation violation hearing last Friday. He has to complete the classes by Aug. 4 and must report to his probation officer any travel plans that will require him to leave Philly.
Meek and his attorney argued that having to check in with a probation officer would create an unnecessary strain on the rapper’s career. But the judge was unmoved, telling Meek that the etiquette classes were “more important than any concerts [you] might have,” and might help him use social media more wisely in the future. Previously, Meek had tweeted about his legal troubles, resulting in some fans sending death threats to Assistant District Attorney Noel DeSantis.
The MMG rapper is currently on probation stemming from a 2009 sentencing. He will return to court in September for another progress report.
Lil Reese Charged With Auto Theft
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, rapper Lil Reese was arrested June 22 and charged with misdemeanor theft. We still don’t know much about the circumstances surrounding the arrest, but court records say Reese “presented false documentation to obtain” a 2006 BMW 750 Li. This is the same car he was reportedly found sleeping in back in April when he was arrested on a warrant.
Reese’s bail was set at $5,000. He is also contending with another court case linked to a 2012 video that shows him getting into a verbal disagreement with a woman and beating her.
