Jeezy, T.I. May Release a Joint Album
Jeezy and T.I. have teased the possibility of a joint album before, but it looks like the two Southern rap giants may actually be moving forward with the project.
“We’ve been talking about it for years, but we [are] finally putting the execution part of it in the works,” T.I. told MTV News. “Usually, when we talking about it, either he’s working on finishing his album or I’m working on finishing mine. This is like one of the first times that we both putting our albums out around the same time. I’m done with my process, he’s done with his process, now we can collectively come together and do something together.”
The two linked up for Tip’s latest album, Paperwork, and have already recorded songs that could appear on the joint LP. “We already have about six, seven records. It don’t take us long to put it together. It’s just a matter of actually finding the time to promote it, market it and actually get it done,” said T.I.
Jeezy seemed equally confident that the two could release something soon. The “Seen It All” rapper told MTV, “Keep your eyes and ears open. That’s my brother from another right there. We stay in our bag, so, you know, I would just stay focused if I was you.”
The project, which does not have a release window yet, will reportedly be titled Dope Boy Academy. T.I.’s Paperwork, the first album in an expected trilogy, came out on Oct. 21 and has sold just over 100,000 copies to date. Jeezy’s seventh studio album, Seen It All: The Autobiography, was released Sept. 2 and has sold more than 200,000 copies.
