Jordan Brand Introduces the CP3.IX
The 2015-2016 NBA season is almost upon us, and that means it’s time to update the signature sneaker lines of a handful of the league’s most prominent players. Kevin Durant’s latest, the KD 8, has been out for months. LeBron James just debuted the Nike LeBron 13 over the weekend. Now it’s time for Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul to debut the next step in his signature line, the CP3.IX.
Once again designed to accentuate Paul’s footwork on the court, from his quick cuts to his devastating crossover, the CP3.IX debuts a webbed lacing system that gives your foot a lockdown feel along with lateral support for quick movement. Made from composite mesh, the upper also has a breathable quality that keeps your foot from feeling weighed down by sweat or dampness.
Zoom Air cushioning graces the shoe’s forefoot, which again benefits players whose game is predicated on quick change of direction.
Other design elements: the Chinese symbol for “family” is written in the toe of the outsole; and Paul’s “CP3” logo again appears on the tongue. The first colorway to release is the yellow and black “Yellow Dragon,” set to drop in China only on Oct. 1. A black and green “Emerald” colorway will drop in the U.S. on that same day for $130.
