Jordan Brand Holiday 2011 Preview: Melo M8
When the NBA lockout is resolved, one of the big stories will be Carmelo Anthony’s first full season with the New York Knicks. And when he finally gets back on the court, Melo will be sporting his new custom sneaker.
Jordan Brand recently introduced the new Melo M8, along with other signature shoes for Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul, at a holiday 2011 preview event on Nike’s campus in Beaverton, Ore. Melo’s redesigned kicks include a full-length phylon midsole and a max air unit in the heel to increase cushioning. A cushioned heel sleeve hugs the foot tight; and since the shoe is built with Flywire technology, it’s extremely light.
Among the personal touches is a crest inside the heel that pays homage to Melo’s roots in both Brooklyn and Baltimore.
Jordan is doing the right thing with colorways. The first three will be available at jumpman23.com on Wednesday, Oct. 12, with additional variations rolling out throughout the winter. Look for a Cool Grey/White/Orange Flash colorway in November and a Black Metallic/Silver Dark Charcoal in December.
