Josh Brolin and Emily Blunt headline the crime drama Sicario, centering on idealistic FBI agent Kate Macy (Blunt), who is suddenly thrown into the world of international drug trafficking when she is recruited by members of a government task force to take down the head of a Mexican drug cartel. However, the assignment may mean compromising her ethical and moral standards.

Brolin and Benicio Del Toro play the individuals involved in the secret CIA operation who bring Kate into the plot. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal (The Wolf of Wall Street), Victor Garber (The Flash), Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice), and Maximiliano Hernandez, who was most recently seen on the big screen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The film was directed by Denis Villeneuve, best known for directing the acclaimed 2013 mystery drama Prisoners.

The screenplay was written by Sons of Anarchy actor Taylor Sheridan. This movie is Sheridan’s feature film screenwriting debut. He is also writing the script for the Chris Pine crime feature Comancheria.

Sicario hits select theaters on Sept. 18 before going to wide release Sept. 25.
