Serving Size: 2 tbsp
Peanut butter is not as exotic as other foods on this list, but it packs some serious nutrients. A single serving of natural peanut butter contains eight grams of protein, 14 percent of your daily vitamin E, 21 percent of your daily niacin and 23 percent of your daily manganese. Niacin is a B vitamin that helps the body convert food into fuel and improves circulation. Manganese is a trace mineral that's important for calcium absorption, blood sugar regulation and brain function. Although peanut butter might appear to be high in fat, much of it is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. Go for the natural variety for a low-sugar option.
