Justin Long Boards Mystery Thriller ‘Lavender’
Actor Justin Long of TV’s New Girl has signed on to co-star in the big screen psychological thriller Lavender.
In this suspenseful movie, Abbie Cornish (Limitless) plays Jane, a photographer who suffers from severe memory loss following a traumatic accident. Strange clues discovered among her photos offer evidence that Jane might actually be responsible for the deaths of family members she didn’t even know she had. Long is cast as a psychiatrist who tries to help Jane retrieve her lost memories.
The cast also includes Long’s New Girl co-star Dermot Mulroney, Diego Klattenhoff (Pacific Rim, The BlackList) and Lola Flanery in her feature film debut. Sacha Grierson plays Jane’s young daughter.
The film is being directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly, whose most recent work includes horror flick The Last Exorcism, Part II. Gass-Donnelly wrote the screenplay with newcomer Colin Frizzell.
Filming is currently under way, and according to The Daily Mail, Cornish has been “immersing herself in the eerie, dark spirit of the flick.” The 32-year-old Australian actress and rap artist frequently posts selfies online from the set, including one on Instagram in which the radiant beauty looks uncharacteristically pale and tired, with the caption: “This ghost movie is getting under my skin and in my eyes…”
Lavender is expected to be released some time in 2016.
