‘The Last of Us’ Demo Confirmed for May 31
Naughty Dog has confirmed in a tweet that The Last of Us demo will go live May 31 for those who purchase God of War: Ascension. A countdown clock for the demo’s launch is available from Ascension‘s main menu, imposed over a black and white picture of protagonists Joel and Ellie.
Pre-ordered God of War: Ascension yet? We’re pleased to announce that #TheLastofUs demo, accessible early via GOW, will be available May 31, 2013.

Fans of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series are eagerly awaiting the new game, which continues the company’s trend of pushing the PS3 to its graphical limits. In a post-apocalpytic world, the ruins are decidedly more modern and metropolitan than the Tibetan temples and Central American pyramids Nathan Drake usually frequents; but they are just as beautifully rendered, conveying the same sense of immense scale.
Certain gameplay elements will carry over as well, such as third-person shooting and computer controlled sidekicks (which were surprisingly intelligent and helpful in Uncharted). However, The Last of Us should improve on its predecessor’s clunky stealth mechanics, and players may have a new inventory system to use.
Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 both received a number of accolades and honors, including several Game of the Year awards. While Naughty Dog’s new game is decidedly darker and more mature than anything offered in the T-rated trilogy, the cinematic presentation and top-notch voice acting are still present in both cut scenes and in-game banter between Joel and Ellie.
