LeBron James Paid Homage to His Kids With a Hand-Written Message on His Sneakers During His 41-Point NBA Finals Performance
There’s certain sides of LeBron James you don’t get to see very often anymore. In interviews with the media, he is guarded and calculated, giving off the distinct impression that the real LeBron lurks somewhere below the surface, shown only to those who know him well. Every once in awhile you catch him in a playful mood, but more often than not, LeBron knows what he’s going to say before he says it.

One thing fans don’t often get to see is LeBron’s love for his three children, Bronny, Bryce and Zuhri. Every now and then, you find a video of LeBron hanging out and cheering at one of his son’s youth basketball games, but you don’t really get much of a peek into LeBron’s home life and the impact his kids have on his life.

Before the Cavaliers’ do-or-die Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, a game they had to win to avoid losing back-to-back championships to the Golden State Warriors, LeBron wrote the initials of his three kids, “BBZ,” on the strap of his Nike LeBron Soldier X. He then proceeded to drop an insane stat line of 41 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists as the Cavs forced a Game 6 back in Cleveland.
Whether LeBron wanted the spirit of his children with him during one of the biggest games of his career, or there’s another reason behind the initials that we’ll never know, he was propelled to an enormous game that saved the Cavs’ season, at least for one more game.
