LeBron James Reenacted His Famous Game 7 Block Last Night Against the Wizards
In the Cleveland Cavaliers’ final pre-season tuneup before they begin their NBA title defense on Oct. 25, LeBron James reminded fans of exactly how that title was won.
Taking on the Washington Wizards in Columbus on the home court of the Ohio State Buckeyes, LeBron hit Kelly Oubre Jr. with his signature chasedown block in the first quarter, pinning Oubre’s layup attempt against the backboard in a move eerily reminiscent of his game-changing block against Golden State’s Andre Iguodala, which helped seal the Cavs’ victory in Game 7 of last season’s NBA Finals. Look familiar? Both shots were blocked with LeBron’s powerful right hand. The only difference this time was that John Wall, who was trailing the play, snagged the ball and immediately put it back up for 2 points. Had that happened in Game 7, well, the outcome of the Finals might have been just a tad different.
It didn’t happen that way, of course. The constant here is LeBron James continuing to do superhuman things. We can’t wait for the regular season to begin.
