Liam Neeson Stars in Crime Drama ‘Run All Night’
Liam Neeson will star as infamous Brooklyn gangster and hitman Jimmy Conlon in the big screen action drama Run All Night. The 55-year-old Jimmy, once known as “The Gravedigger,” abandoned his family for a life of crime and is now deeply regretting his past choices.
The aging and washed-up mobster, constantly watched by a tenacious police detective for the past 30 years, finds himself turning to the bottle to drown his guilt and remorse. When he discovers that his estranged adult son Mike is being targeted and is in danger of being killed, Jimmy is forced to choose between his crime family and his real family. He decides to risk his own life by taking on his brutal former boss to protect Mike, who has gone on the run.
In the role of Mike is Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman, best known for starring as the title character in 2014’s remake of RoboCop, and for the TV series The Killing. The movie also stars veteran actor Ed Harris as mob boss Shawn Maguire, along with Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief), Vincent D’Onofrio (Charlie Countryman), Patricia Kalember (Limitless) and Boyd Holbrook, who recently co-starred with Neeson in A Walk Among the Tombstones.
This project reteams Neeson with director Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously worked with him on the action flick Non-Stop. The screenplay for the feature was written by Brad Ingelsby, who made his feature film debut with the 2013 crime thriller Out of the Furnace.
Run All Night will hit theaters nationwide April 17, 2015.
