Lil Durk Announces the Name of His Debut Album
Lil Durk recently revealed the name of his forthcoming debut LP via Twitter. The project will be titled Remember My Name and is expected to be released through Def Jam, his own label OTF, and French Montana’s Coke Boys imprint.
A release date has not been announced. It’s also unclear whether the project will feature his latest Young Chop-produced single, “Party,” which features Atlanta rapper Young Thug.
Durk, who was included in XXL’s 2014 Freshman list, recently landed in the headlines over his beef with Cali rapper Tyga. The feud reportedly started after Durk mentioned Tyga’s girlfriend, Black Chyna, on his song “Get Dat Money,” with singer Chris Brown and French Montana.
“It wasn’t a diss. It was just a line, like, I want her and s—. It wasn’t no diss. When we was in L.A.—me, Tyga and Chris Brown, when we first did the hook—Tyga came in and heard the line, [and] he felt some type of way. It’s been tension since then,” Durk explained to XXL.
A callout in “Chiraq” from Durk and one failed collaboration later, Tyga released a song, “L.A. to ChiRaq,” with fellow Cali rapper Game, dissing the Chicago rapper. Durk however seemed more offended by fellow Chi-town rapper Chief Keef’s posting of the song. “He ain’t disrespect me only. He disrespected the whole Chicago. He ran with another city. . . I’m not reaching out to [Chief Keef]. It’s over with. He from L.A.,” the rapper asserted during a recent interview.
