Beef Continues Between Lil Wayne, Young Thug; Game Gets Involved
As the Lil Wayne and Young Thug beef continues to grow with no end in sight, the battle lines are becoming a little clearer.
Last week, Game sided with Wayne, blasting Thug on social media. The Atlanta-based performer responded to the unprovoked diss via Instagram. “So, you used to be a Crip, now you a Blood,” Thug said. “I don’t want to smoke with you, you got Bloods and Crips on your team. And you was a male stripper once before so I don’t want to fight you. I don’t want no germs.”
And then without consulting Google, Thug added, “I’m in L.A. more than Arnold Schwarzenegger and he’s the governor!” Schwarzenegger hasn’t been the state’s governor since 2011.
The back-and-forth Instagram shots escalated, with each threatening the other with violence. Thankfully, Game’s cousin, who is apparently also friends with Thugga, stepped in and helped resolve the situation before it went further. Shortly thereafter, Thug took to Instagram to quasi-apologize to the West Coast performer and questionably highlight the #BlackLivesMatter movement, but he ended the clip by taking a swipe at Lil Wayne.
“See the way the world works, they want all Blacks to kill each other. But we’re not. Black lives matter,” said Thug. “So, I salute Game, I respect him, and I’m sorry for making that post about him. Even though he was wrong and he was in the wrong business, and taking up for a n**** that wasn’t taking up for himself, it’s all good.”
Though it is possible that Game felt an urge to announce his allegiance to Wayne mid-concert, it seems most likely that he saw an opportunity to get his name in the press by jumping into the middle of the fracas. Either way, his beef with Thugga is now dead.
Game reacted to Thug’s sorry-not-sorry clip with one of his own, offering to help end the beef between the two southern performers, and even heal the division between Weezy and Birdman, so they can focus on “getting’ back to gettin’ their money.”
